Made In Heaven Willow Bed
Along with my available-to-order pieces, I also offer a selection of special order items that require prior order acceptance as the availability of the type and size of willow needed to build these pieces as well as my current commitments determine the waiting period. While I may be able to fulfill a special order request within my normal time frame, these orders could take up to 8 months to fulfill. However, if you fall in love with something you see here, reach out to me for current fill dates on special order pieces.
I will provide, pricing dimensions, and other options if I am able to accept your special order request.
Made In Heaven Willow Bed
Enchanted is the best way to describe this bed as it is truly a work of art. You can read more about the Made In Heaven Bed in the "In The Press" section on my homepage. I was commissioned to build this bed for the 1976 movie, Made In Heaven, co-starring Kelley McGillis and Timothy Hutton. I regret that I have misplaced the photos that I took at the time as this internet photo is very grainy. While I have continued to make similar beds, I have never before offered the same design. I have decided to yield to the constant urging of my website designer and list it. I do not have any better-quality photos and this one fails to show the details. Therefore, if you love it as shown, you will think you're in heaven when you see it. If you view my Half Poster Bent Willow Bed, you can see that I created this bed by using a similar half-moon weaving of the willow at the headboard and footboard. This one however has more ornate detailing. The bent willow scrolls on the side of the bed give the warm rustic aesthetic an elegance worthy of a starlet.
My willow beds are handcrafted made to order and come with a waiting period typically of 6-8 months. This item will require an 8-10 month ship date. Message me if you are interested in this item and I will advise you of the current wait period for this special order piece.
The price is for a Queen Bed. Measurements are available upon request.

Caring For Your Handcrafted Willow Furniture
Caring For Your Handcrafted Willow Furniture
While willow furniture is incredibly durable, it is not made for long-term exposure to water/harsh elements. In order to keep your beautiful willow looking like it does when it arrives, your willow furniture should be placed on a covered porch, patio, or indoors.
I apply a generous coat of invisible three-way protective wood sealant during the kilning process however, if you do plan to use your willow furniture outdoors (not recommended) it is imperative to apply an annual coat of wood sealant.
Return and Refund Policy
I stand behind my work with a full money-back satisfaction guarantee or replacement against damages during shipping or defects.
I must be made aware of any issues with your shipment within 5 days of receipt of your order.
Because each piece is made to order, I cannot accept returns for any reason other than damage or defect.
Order cancellations after 15 days will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee.
The Dan Shelley Originals Willow Furniture Process
I put my heart into my work and each piece is handcrafted personally by me of choice willow meticulously chosen for a specific piece of furniture. I harvest the willow from the Coastal and Pee Dee Regions of South Carolina, or wherever I happen upon a lush, green patch of willow. Bent and handcrafted while the wood is green, then, hand trimmed, and beveled with all saw marks whittled off. This is part of my Dan Shelley Originals process. Finally, each piece is dried in a wood-fired kiln before a no-gloss three-way wood sealant is generously applied.
Each item is individually wrapped, professionally packaged, and boxed for its protection during shipping.
